Do you ever wonder where your memory went? When you have tried to make change in your life, have you found falling on your butt as likely as succeeding? If your answers are yes, welcome to the human race.
When I first decided to begin writing about the brain, and how to use it, preserve it, and improve it, I looked at a lot of sites about neuroplasticity, neuroeconomics, and neuroscience. They were all good, but they were more focused on theory, less on practice. I want, and I want other people to have, practical advice and ideas about how to take care of this most precious organ, and in doing so, take care of the rest of the body as well, throughout their life. So, here we are. I have found many sites and blogs, and articles on how to do this. I am not a scientist and I am not a doctor. I am exploring this stuff with you, and not here to throw it at you. I appreciate your reading and I hope what you find on your screen helps you in your quest to improve and succeed.
Saturday’s Eleven – Brain Imrovement YOU Can Use
Change or Die
Alan Deutschman’s article in FastCompany turned me on to personal development in a new way. People don’t change because they are afraid of what might happen to them. Not to go all Obama on you, but we change because we see something out there in the future that we deem truly important. And that we believe is possible. This reframe has to occur in the brain. Our brains are the obstacle to change, and also the key to change. This article and the subsequent book (or vice versa) are excellent reads to get you started and motivated to change you brain and your life.

BrainFit for Life
BrainFit provides easy to read posts on the connection between fitness and brain health. I will be returning there for an upcoming post on the same issue.

Finer Minds
Finer Minds is a more general blog that spreads information across mind, body, spirit and such. I noticed a section on “Law of Attraction” and, I’m sorry, that took the blog down a notch in my rating. I know others are interested in that subject, so head there if it’s for you.

MindTweaks
MindTweaks is one of the blogs that I subscribe to wholeheartedly (and No, not just because they use the Thesis Theme). It’s very informative, has product review on products that I also believe are helpful, and is clean and easy to read.

Litemind
Litemind is laid out so well that I would be hard pressed to find any criticism. Informative easy to read posts, a recent contest on personal improvement, and many links.

brain health hacks
The author of this blog is one who has a PhD in neuroscience (study of the brain) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. And .. it is pretty obvious. I really enjoy reading this blog, it is well-informed, well- documented, and has the appearance of being just a little subversive – right up my alley.

Mind Update
An “old school” blog. Nothing fancy, and packed with information, again very well documented and articles about a variety of personal improvement, mind, and brain related subjects.

Online Brain Games Blog
This is the blog I was reading when I was struck with the idea of writing this post. This is the type of blog I like to look at when I’m looking for an ideas for a post, with articles like “ten things that can shrink your brain.”. It is practcal and, as I see it, doesn’t get too deeply involved in theory. Take a look.

play with your mind
brain games, mind exercises and iq tests
Play With Your Mind seems to be temporarily off line. In the mean time, what has been left is links to a variety different brain games. I will look forward to the return of this blog.
Okay, so I am saving, if not the best, the largest site for last. At least largest in my experience. I have been checking out Alvaro’s blog for a couple of years now, and if there is information on the brain available, it is available here.

Okay, that’s it for this week. Let me know what you think. Back to you soon. Oh, yes and I added twitter names for those I had; if you have any to add, please let me know.
