Can We All Be Real-Life Benjamin Buttons’?

Ellen Langer thinks so.  And she has the research to prove it.

I first began reading Ellen Langer when she wrote Mindfulness; that was at least 25 years ago.   I have never forgotten that book.

Now, so many baby boomers are striving to stay healthy.  We are all aging; there is no cure for that.  There is not point to being anti-aging.  On the other hand there is also no reason to go peacefully into that good night.

Do we age based on reality?  Or are we too strongly influenced by  myths and common expectations of aging?

Dr. Langer’s new book, Counter Clockwise (You can pick it up below), presents a new view on aging.  Context, beliefs, societal myths, trust in the first opinion of the medical profession, may create a self-fulfilling prophecy that invents an often unnecessary infirmity and brain health losss over time.

It’s a great read and here is the book -
